I ordered this because I’ve been doing a lot of tree work in my yard up high and got tired of lifting my chainsaw up and using it 50 feet off the ground (and that’s not really that safe with a chainsaw that’s not especially made for tree-top work). I was literally waiting for the postman today with the ropes all set up. Opened the package, tested it out and climbed up the tree. For the money, I was surprised how well it worked. Went through a lot of 4 to 5 inch branches, and numerous smaller branches. This was an oak tree, no less. It was so much more safe and convenient than using a gas chainsaw for this kind of work. The battery wasn’t even topped off, and after all the work I did, I was amazed that the indicator still showed a full charge. I don’t know if that’s a problem or it really has that much capacity. This is a great tool for pruning stuff too big for clippers and cutting off branches up to 6 inches. I got it on sale for $30 and just ordered two more for gifts. I tried to load a video cutting through a small oak tree on the ground, but it wouldn’t let me load a second video. Hope it lasts, but for $30 it’s a good deal.
As the chain becomes loose, the best way to tighten it is to loosen the nut, hold the bar at the tip between thumb and forefinger and let the weight of the tool set the tension, then tighten the nut.
