Alex Cooper, the host of “Call Her Daddy,” is now a mom.
Cooper, 32, announced the birth of her first child, a boy, in an Instagram post Tuesday. The Unwell founder and her husband, Matt Kaplan, 42, announced in May that they were expecting. The baby’s due date was not clear.
The post featured a photo of a newborn in a fuzzy blue outfit. The caption was just a blue heart.
On Thursday, Cooper posted a slideshow of photos from her pregnancy.
“The most transformative 9 months of my life,” she wrote in the caption.
In a July post on Instagram, Cooper revealed that she was diagnosed with gestational diabetes, which she described as “when the placenta hormones cause insulin resistance — aka your pancreas cannot create enough insulin to keep your blood sugar normal.”
At first, Cooper said, she was hard on herself about the diagnosis, which she said felt “very isolating.” But ultimately, she said, she just wanted her baby to be healthy.
“This diagnosis was so upsetting, I think, because during pregnancy, there’s already so much emotionally that you’re going through — I am so blessed and there’s been so many incredible parts of my pregnancy — but it’s a lot,” she said.
According to the American Diabetes Association, gestational diabetes can affect up to 9% of pregnancies.
Kaplan, a Hollywood producer, married Cooper in April 2024. The couple co-founded the Unwell Network, a subsidiary of the media company Trending.
The baby’s name has not been revealed. One user joked in the comments: “call him baby.”
