Friday’s big stock stories: What’s likely to move the market in the next trading session

Private credit and the bond market Several of the big private equity stocks have dropped in the last several days. Ares Management is down 2.6% in four days. KKR is down 6.1% in four days. Blue Owl Capital is down 6.7% in four days. Apollo Global is down 7.6% in four days. On Friday, CNBC’s senior finance and banking reporter Leslie Picker will cover what the recent turbulence in the bond market means for this group of stocks moving forward. KKR 5D mountain KKR in the past five trading days The shipping market and the countdown to Christmas CNBC TV’s Pippa Stevens will report on the shipping market and the impact on the big ocean liner shipping stocks. AP Moller is up 21% in August so far. It hit a new high this week. Frontline is up 10.6% in August. It also hit a new high this week. The SonicShares Global Shipping ETF (BOAT) is up almost 10% in August. This stock hit a new high this week. Diana Shipping is up 9% in August. Shares are 9% from the May high. Hapag-Lloyd and ZIM are both up roughly 8% in August. Both stocks are about 10% from their highs. There are 99 days until the day after Thanksgiving, when the shopping season really gets underway. There are 127 days until Christmas… cue Mariah Carey. Micron, ‘Mad Money,’ and Boise, Idaho Jim Cramer made the trip west for a big show at Micron ‘s Boise headquarters and plant, as the company introduced Micron Research Labs. CEO Sanjay Mehrotra told Cramer the lab will “be driving America’s leadership in semiconductor and memory technology.” If you missed it, its worth watching, you can find it online at CNBC.com on the ” video tab .” The stock was up about 4% as Cramer spent the day in Boise with Mehrotra. One of the quotes of the day Cramer was able to get from Mehrotra is: “Memory is no longer the component in a system. Memory is the strategic infrastructure for AI.” He went on to say, “Without memory you can’t make AI smarter, you can’t make AI faster, you can’t scale up AI.” Micron now makes up 26% of the popular Roundhill Memory ETF (DRAM) . The ETF has more than doubled since its April 2 launch.
